Probably the most asked question I get is "How do you look so young? What do you use?" Last year I got carded when buying lottery tickets, I asked the cashier "wait seriously....? I am way older than 18.....", she said "um... ID please?" then I handed her my ID and she said "you are 2x ?????!" I said, "um...ya.....I am in my late 20s......" And the cashier was Asian too! So it wasn't someone who couldn't tell the age of Asian people =p
I think baby faces run in the family (thank you mom, dad, and grandparents!) because I don't use anything out of the ordinary, I use a variety of skin care products from department to drug store. I actually haven't noticed a difference when I switched to drug store brands 2 years ago :) I think the only thing I can say is that I am obsessed with using sunscreen? But I only started using sunscreen freshmen year in college, when I was in high school I didn't believe in sunscreens and I actually liked to tan. Back then, my mom used to tell me to use sunscreen but I never listened to her, I told her I rather look tan than pale =p
But when I went to college, I slowly lost my tan due to the cold weather and realized that hey I think I might look better when I am pale? After which I started using sunscreen religiously. Now I can't live without my sunscreen, I use it every single day, even when I am just staying home. I also apply sunscreen to my neck, decollete, hands, and wrists every morning. And no I don't just apply a little bit, I make sure to pile it on - I use about the size of a quarter of sunscreen on my face everyday, yup including the eye area as well :)
If I have to go out in the sun, I wear a big hat and make sure that most of my body is covered, thank goodness it doesn't get TOO hot here in the Bay Area.
So there you go, I don't have any special recipe for looking young other than sunscreen, oh wait, I think my height also throws a lot of people off? Being short has its advantages :) As far as makeup goes, I am obsessed with putting on base makeup that gives me a healthy complexion, absolutely no matte finishes. I also put on a slight shimmery blush to get that glow. To me, complexion is the key to looking young, not eye makeup, and not lip color. Some people can't live without their eyeliners, but I can't live without my foundations and concealers :) Not too long ago I also grew out my eyebrows - full eyebrows will also give a more youthful look :)
