Thanks to Rent the Runway, I was able to rent 2 dresses (for the price of 1) this past weekend (see my previous post here), and I wore Yigal Azrouël One shoulder draped dress last Sat for a friend's wedding:

Light purple all over the lid - here I used the light purple from Physician's Formula shimmer strips in Brown Eyes.

I wore Alice + Olivia Shift Dress from Rent the Runway!

I received the Alice + Olivia Shift Dress from Rent the Runway last Wed (check out the packaging here), and wore it to a friend's wedding rehearsal last Fri :)

Last weekend I went to LA to attend a friend's wedding, and I've shown you guys what makeup I brought in an earlier post, but haven't shown you what was in my skincare bag, so here it is!

On the left:

The AC is conveniently located in front of a big mirror with a comfy chair and nice floor lamp, I of course have to claim this space so no one else can use it! :D  This is where I got ready before the wedding rehearsal and the wedding :)

It's spring!  The weather is finally warming up!

Makeup inspired by frmheadtotoe's Rose Garden Pink & Green* Look.

Blueprint time!

For eyeshadows:

Green eyeshadow in the lids - here I am using Urban Decay Glitter Eyeshadow in Urb.

Pink eyeshadow in the crease - I am using the pink shadow from Maybelline Eye Studio in 80 Pink Persuasion

White eyeshadow on the browbone - I am using the white shadow from Maybelline Eye Studio in 80 Pink Persuasion

Eyeliner: MAC Fluidline Eye Liner Gel in Blitz & Glitz

Mascara: Cover girl LashBlast Luxe

I then lined my outer lower line with Body & Soul eye liner in Seduce, and dusted the same white eyeshadow in the inner corners.

Final look!  Hmm I think I should have put more green on... 

Fancies: Maybelline Eye Studio™ Color Plush™ Silk Eyeshadow

The CVS next to me was having 40% off all Maybelline products, what a perfect excuse to try their new Eye Studio eyeshadows :D

I bought Eye Studio in 20 Saphire Siren, and Eye Studio in 80 Pink Persuasion.

Fancies: Sephora Lash plumper mascara

I've never tried Sephora's mascara before, and this year I got a sample of the Sephora Lash plumper mascara from their birthday kit which I blogged about here.  I actually really like this mascara, the bristles are a lot softer than other mascaras.

The volume is comparable to COVERGIRL's Lash Blast Luxe which I fancy (see my post here)!  The length however is a lot longer than the Lash Blast Luxe :)  But at the end of the day I did notice a bit more smudges than the Lash Blast Luxe.

Overall, the Sephora Lash plumper mascara is very good and I will continue to use it.  But would I buy this over COVERGIRL Lash Blast?  Probably not because you just can't beat the price!

Anyways, I am on my way to LA now, yay long weekend for me!  Have a good one everybody!

Received my second dress from Rent the Runway!

I had received my first dress from Rent the Runway yesterday, there was a bit of confusion (which I previous blogged about here) and thanks to the awesome people at Rent the Runway, I was able to rent a second dress for free :)  I am one lucky gal!

 

The dress came in a nice Rent the Runway garment bag (you can see pictures of the packaging here), and this time they included the Fit Kit:

The Fit Kit includes:

Flash Tape: double-sided clear tape that keeps dresses in place;

Wipe Out: cute pink flower shaped sponge that can easily remove unsightly deodorant residues from the dress;

Magic Clip: a clear clip that can convert bra straps to a racerback to keep straps hidden;

and a measuring tape, not sure why this is part of the Fit Kit but it is nice and useful to have!

Cute eh?  and the Fit Kit is for me to keep :)

I am very excited about these 2 dresses, I will wear 1 on Fri night and wear the other on Sat!  I am one lucky gal :D  More pictures of the dresses to come later, so stay tuned!

What's in my makeup bag?

I am going to a friend's wedding in LA this weekend, which is why I rented a dress from Rent the Runway (see my previous post here), I just finished packing the makeup that I will be bringing, want to see? :)

I don't usually use primers but since the wedding is from 3pm - 11pm(?), I want my makeup to last all day so I decided to bring the LM foundation primer sample that I got from before which I never use.  I will use the Armani foundations for the wedding (I only use it on special occasions since it is so pricey), and will use the LM mineral powder on other days.  I bought the Physician's Formula Healthy Wear spf 50 Powder Foundation at a very cheap price (see my post here)!

For eyes:

Received my dress from Rent the Runway!

My dress that I rented from Rent the Runway has arrived!  

The box contains the Rent the Runway garment bag (with the dress in it of course), a yellow return envelope, and a cute little bracelet charm.  The Fit Kit that is supposed to be included with every order according to Rent the Runway isn't in the package though.

When I opened the garment bag I was a bit confused, I had previously needed to rent a second dress due to a size conflict (which I had blogged about here), but the dress in the garment bag is the original red  Alice + Olivia Shift Dress that I rented:

So I gave Rent the Runway a call, after they looked into this issue further, they said the warehouse had thought there was a size conflict, but realized that they did have my size so they shipped me the dress in the correct size.  But because I had already chosen another dress to swap with, they have sent the second dress overnight to me!  This means I will get to wear 2 dresses for the price of 1 this weekend!  Lucky me :)  I also told them that the Fit Kit isn't in the package, they said they will make sure that the kit is included in this second package :)


Although this process has been a bit confusing (from needing to rent a second dress due to size conflict, to receiving the original dress, and then getting the second dress shipped overnight), I have to say that the customer service at Rent the Runway is great and very very helpful!
