Fancies: TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo

Previously, I fantasized over the TRESemmé Fresh Start collection, and decided to head over to Walmart to buy the TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo.  After using it for about 2 weeks, my fantasy has become my fancy, yup!  I fancy the TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo :)

It really does its job of refreshing not-so-fresh hair by not only absorbing grease but also leaving a very refreshing scent - that classic Tresemme scent that everyone loves :)

Here's how I use it:
This is my yucky greasy hair =p

Then I spray TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo all over my roots.  (Isn't my naked face and greasy hair just lovely..............? =p )

I spray this on my roots all over my scalp.  It leaves white powder and you let it sit for a couple of minutes.

Then just brush everything out until all the white powder disappears.
And that's it!  No more smelly greasy hair :D  I used to feel very self conscious about my second day hair because I think the whole world can smell my grease (and no, perfume does NOT help), but not anymore! I can now comfortably face the world with my second day hair, yes I can!  I <3 TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo !

Clarisonic PLUS - Week 1

As you all know, I started using Clarisonic PLUS last Tue, and I will try to update you on a weekly basis.  (Sorry I haven't tried the Opal yet, I want to use up my current eye cream first...).

So after 1 week of using Clarisonic PLUS every night, even though I haven't seen a drastic improvement in my skin, I do notice that my skin is a lot smoother and softer now.  Furthermore, washing my face at night used to feel like a chore to me, but now that I started using Clarisonic PLUS, I actually look forward to washing my face!  It feels like a mini spa facial, and it just feels SO comfortable!!  Needless to say, my Clarisonic PLUS has secured a permanent spot on my very space-limited bathroom counter:

According to the user guide, we are recommended to cleanse for 1 min: the forehead for 20 sec, the nose/chin for 20 sec, and each cheek for 10 sec.  The Clarisonic PLUS features a T-Timer that beeps and pauses momentarily to indicate that it is time to move on to another part of the face.  I find this feature extremely useful, so I don't accidentally over wash and irritate my skin.  It is possible to configure the T-Timer setting to increase to 2 min, but I haven't tried this yet.  The Clarisonic PLUS also comes in 3 speeds high, normal, and low (which is the default speed).  So far I've only tried the low speed, I think it is better to start slow and increase if necessary.  I don't know if it is just me, but I feel the factory setting of 1 min is a bit too short?  I usually feel that I am not done with my whole face yet and the timer is up :(  Maybe because it feels SO good that I just want to keep on washing my face?  I am not sure... for all the Clarisonic owners out there, what speed and duration do you guys use?

Mario Badescu is on sale on Hautelook

Hmm as I am breaking out pretty badly at the moment, so tempted to buy the Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit or their world famous pink pimple healer Drying Lotion ... should I should I?

Don't have a Hautelook account yet?  Sign up here.

I just made my FIRST Groupon purchase!

Couldn't pass on the $20 Unlimited Spa for one week deal :)  I've never heard of Planet Beach Contempo Spa, but I am excited to try it!  To all my San Jose friends, you guys want to try it out with me?

Here's some info on the spa:
Planet Beach is a futuristic relaxation station where state-of-the-art machines administer all the services . These friendly automatons facilitate everything from hydro massages and oxygen therapy to spray tanning and luminous facials. Each machine is designed for a specific service, which makes it the ultimate expert and keeps it from developing the ability to cry. Standard UV tanning booths are available ($13-$17 value per session) along with Mystic spray tanning ($30 per session) for a light butterscotch topping. Advanced spa services, such as hydrodermafusion, sauna time, and LED facials ($40 per session) provide opportunities for sweating, moisturizing, and photoskinthesis.

For more information, check out their website http://www.planetbeach.com/.

Haven't heard of Groupon yet?  They feature a daily deal on the best stuff to do, see, eat, and buy in a variety of cities across the United States.  You can sign up here :)

I tried juicystar07's *Summer Smokey Eye* look

Makeup inspired by juicystar07's *Summer Smokey Eye* look.  It is a shimmery smokey look, no eyeliner was used for a lighter summery feel.  I actually wore this look yesterday when I went to Beauty 360's grand opening with Frances.

First I used a silvery grey eyeshadow all over my lids - here I used the grey shadow Maquillage quad in GY851.

Then I used a shimmery gold eyeshadow in my crease.  Here I used the gold shadow from RMK eye palette 02 Deep Red Brown.

Next I used a shimmery black eyeshadow in the outer V - here I used Milani Eye Shadow in #02 Black Out.

I also used the same color to line my lower outer 3/4 lash line.

Then I used a larger eyeshadow brush to blend out all the harsh edges.  I should have used a blending brush for this, but I don't have one :(

Next I used a light neutral color to highlight under the brows.  Here I used the highlighter from my stila quad.

No eyeliner is used for this look to keep it light and summery.  I don't have Blair's (juicystar07's) amazing lashes, so I used a pencil liner to tightline.  Here I used BeneFit BAD gal liner waterproof.  Then I curled my lashes and used CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe in black emerald for mascara.

Here's the final look:

Beauty 360 mini haul

Today was my neighbor Beauty 360's grand opening!  Frances and I showed up at the door at 2pm RIGHT when they opened :)

They had refreshments and drinks for us inside, and everything was 20% off!!

I love going to grand openings because everything is so new and super clean, I was even hesitant to play with the testers because all of them were new!!  The decor reminds me a lot of the cosmetics section at high end department stores: glass shelves, bright lightings, steel accents, and white-tiled floors.  Similar to Sephora, the sales team are in black uniforms making them very easy to spot, they are also very friendly and helpful :)  Our sales woman said they all went through 3 weeks of training prior to the grand opening, so they are all very knowledgeable :)  I wanted to take more pictures but a lady stopped me and said pictures are not allowed, I am not sure if it's because today was only their "soft" opening, maybe they'll allow pictures when they actually open (I think their real opening is sometime next week).

Anyway, let me show you what I hauled:

Frowns: Jason Natural Cosmetics's Lavender Hand & Body Therapy

Frowns?  Ya I do not fancy the Jason Natural Cosmetics's Lavender Hand & Body Therapy, hence the frown :(

I wanted to do something different, so instead of writing my review here, I posted it on Beauty Book instead :)  Too bad I JUST missed their Yves Saint Laurent & Caudalie Giveaway :(

So first I went to http://apps.facebook.com/beautybook, and clicked on the "Reviews" tab:

Then I clicked on "Create Review":
And wrote my review:

Then I clicked on the "Submit" button and now it appears on the main page:

I got my free Origins face wash!

Yay thanks to Origins' Earth Day event, I traded my empty Aveeno positively ageless night cream for a free Origins face wash - A Perfect World Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea!  I am glad I went to the Hillsdale Macy's instead of Valley Fair because I heard the face washes there ran out REALLY QUICKLY =p The sales girl was super nice too!

The back of the face wash says that "Tube is made with 30% post consumer plastics.  Cap is made from 100% recycled plastics"!  Cool!  I like knowing what my products are made out of :)

Hope everyone was able to trade in before their Origins' counters ran out of the face washes!  Thank you Origins!  And remember, lets all remember to reuse, reduce, and recycle (just like the face wash packing says)!

:D

PS: Don't forget to enter the giveaway for a chance to win a Spring Skincare Wardrobe Makeover from Origins! The giveaway package consists of Origins' latest products: Starting Over™, A Perfect World™ Moisturizer SPF15, Brighter by Nature™ Peel Pads and GinZing™.  Visit beautybloggingjunkie for more details :)
