Fancies: La Mer Eye Concentrate

I received an invitation from Neiman Marcus La Mer to try their Eye Concentrate and was able to score a deluxe sample jar :)  This was probably more than a year ago but I kind of forgot about it and just remembered not too long ago so took it out from my drawer and started using it.  And I have to say, I LOVE IT!  I don't apply it with the applicator because I don't really know how?? I simply use my ring finger to apply.

As you can see, the sample jar is TINY!  But it has enough product in it to last awhile, 1-2 months maybe?

I've completely used it up because this is a GREAT eye cream, I especially LOVE that it is non greasy and absorbs so quickly!!  I love using this in the mornings because of its quick absorption.

The La Mer Eye Concentrate is an ultraluxe eye treatment that dissolves the appearance of lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.  I can't tell how well this dissolves lines/wrinkles/circles/puffiness because I don't really have these problems yet... but I can say that it makes me feel really good about my eye area and perhaps helps prevent potential eye area problems?

Fantasies: Dalton Mirage Face Blending Powder w/ Faceform Brush on QVC

I saw the Dalton Mirage Face Blending Powder w/ Faceform Brush on QVC and it looks so cool and has GREAT reviews!!  Doesn't the brush look interesting? :)

What is it: It's your makeup artist in a jar! The number one problem that women have with their makeup regimen is lack of blending; and this multitasking, color-correcting powder softly blurs or blends away makeup mistakes, redness, or minor imperfections for you. One sweep will help to set and perfect your makeup application, smoothing the appearance of your skin texture and minimizing the look of pores to leave you looking flawless.

Who is it for: Women who may have a heavy hand when applying makeup, or women who need to cover up minor imperfections and minimize redness.

Why is it different: The technologically advanced formula combines state-of-the-art ingredients that help blur imperfections, creating a flawless face. New multi-tonal color-correcting and optical-enhancing pigments automatically adjust the light to enhance your skin's natural beauty. At the same time, the formula neutralizes, corrects unevenness and redness, and adds definition. Mirage blending powder is a lightweight, finely micronized powder that will not cake or lay in lines or wrinkles and applies easily. The Face Form brush has been laser cut to hug the natural curves of your face.

How do I use it: Mirage blending powder is designed to be used as the last step in any makeup application. Dispense a small amount of powder into the lid, swirl the Face Form brush into the lid, and apply powder by gently sweeping onto your face.

My Everyday Look - Complexion - Acne Scars Edition

Last time when I got a  facial from Sunshine Beauty House, I mentioned that the extractions will leave scars (which it did) and that I have a few others that I have to conceal everyday.  I am super anal and am absolutely bothered by my acne scars that hiding them has become the most important step in my morning routines, so I wanted to share with you guys what I do every morning.  Here's my everyday concealer and mineral foundation routine.

Step 0: primer
First I prime my face with BB cream, as I mentioned in my earlier post before that BB creams are great primers, I love how well it covers pores!

So these 2 spots are from the facial I got last time.

And these are the other scars I have on the other cheek.  The blemish near my chin is actually an active pimple, not a scar.

Step 1: acne treatment
bareMinerals RareMinerals Blemish Therapy with Brush .07 oz.
With active pimples, I don't like to put concealer on them because I don't want them to be infected.  Here I am applying Bare Escentuals RareMineral Blemish Therapy over the pimple.

Step 2: conceal acne scars with concealer

Here I am using Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Brush to apply Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage/Concealer in Undercover 2 on the scars.  As you can see, the brush is small and can apply concealer very precisely.  I try to only apply concealer on the scars (it's like trying to color within the lines in preschool) and not on the skin around it.  After trying different methods, I find that the best way that works for me is to apply concealer directly, and NOT pat it in with my finger afterwards.  You'll see why in a second.

Step 3:  set the concealer

Next I take a blending brush to apply mineral foundation over the concealer to set it.  I didn't pat the concealer with my finger prior to this because I use the blending brush to apply mineral foundation which blends out the concealer very nicely.  Here I am using Mineral Essence Foundation in L2 which I use pretty much everyday.  I use a patting motion (instead of brushing) to apply the powder so I don't disturb the concealer underneath it.

Step 4:  apply mineral foundation all over
Now I take a foundation brush and apply the same Mineral Essence Foundation in L2 all over my face.

As you can see, my scars are mostly covered:

Step 5: contour and blush

Now I contour and apply blush, for details on this you can read about it here.

The end!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and hopefully find it useful :)
