[FOTD] I tried BeautyQQ's invisible fake lashes tutorial

I rarely put on fake lashes because I really don't like the visible glue line that other people can see whenever you look down, but today I learned a way to avoid that -- BeautyQQ's invisible fake lashes tutorial!  She has a very unique way of applying fake lashes and she talks about it in many of her videos such as her Pheromone Makeup Tutorial★費洛蒙妝容★.  Doesn't this look much much more natural than the DulceCandy87's Wearable High School Makeup tutorial that I tried a couple of months ago given that I used the same exact lashes?

I've previously shared with you what base makeup I use on a daily basis in My Everyday Look - Complexion - Acne Scars Edition in July, it's been 3 months now and I am still following the SAME EXACT routine and still using the same products so I wanted to write about this again - plus the rest of my daily makeup routine.

So this is me without any makeup on, I have plenty of acne scars which I absolutely must conceal!  I never ever leave my house leaving my scars exposed =p  Here's another before picture:

Invisalign X-rays, Photos, and Impressions + FOTD

As you know, I decided to get Invisalign!  After 3 different consultations at Aesthetics & Essentials Dental Group, Mountain View Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, and Boschken Orthodontics,  I decided to go to Dr Habibi at  Aesthetics & Essentials Dental Group.  She made an awesome first impression, loved the staff members, and most importantly she told me exactly how she plans to fix my teeth in details so I decided to go with her :)  OHHHH! And guess what?  Angela who works at the front desk asked me if I am 21 already, I was like... um..... yes I'm in my late 20s..... HAHHAHAHAHAHHA I am quite glad I can still pass for a 21 year old =p  

Anyway, back to the story - today was my initial Invisalign appointment where I got my x-rays, photos, and impressions made.  Check out my impressions:

I had a facial at my acupuncturist's

Last Fri I had a facial at my acupuncturist's!  I was very surprised that they do facials too.  The masks are made of Chinese herbs and my acupuncturist says that everything she uses is natural.  At first I didn't think it was going to be a full on facial session, I thought maybe she was just going to put some cream on my face.  But I was very pleasantly surprised to see all the gadgets in the room - steamer, towel warmer, misc products, etc.


She isn't that gentle with her fingers but overall it was an acceptable experience, definitely not a high class spa but not bad :)



I can tell she tries to to make this place comfortable - there are candles in the room and she puts on soothing music in the background :)  Would I continue with the treatment?  I think so~

Spotted: EndlessBeauty's Avatar Inspired Makeup Tutorial is VERY wearable!

I've seen many Avatar inspired makeup tutorials and most of them are very dramatic, but this one by EndlessBeauty is so wearable!  I should try it one day :)

Interview: Youtube Guru and beauty blogger Fuzkittie!

Introducing, Fuzkittie (Youtube, Blog, Facebook, twitter)!  She is one of the first gurus that I started following on Youtube.  I love her makeup style, I'd consider her style as everyday glamor - not crazy that you can't wear out during the day, but definitely not bland and boring :)  After I started following her, I came across her Facebook page one day and realized that omigosh we went to the school and we were the same year!!  I still can't believe that I've not seen her around on campus >.<  Another thing we have in common is that we both have technical degrees AND we both love makeup!  Can't believe it =p  Oh, and we are both from Taiwan :)

I had the pleasure of interviewing her and hope you find this inspirational because she has truly inspired me.

I decided to get Invisalign!

Most people say that my teeth are fine and that I don't need to fix it, but let me show you why I want to fix them! =p  These pictures were taken when I went ring shopping with my friend before he proposed to his gf :)

My teeth are not centered aligned...

and you see here they are crooked =p

I've never had braces, good thing my teeth are not that bad :)  I was told that my case will take about 1.5 years, and I am very excited to start my treatment!  I've had 2 consultations from 2 dentists, but will get a 3rd one just to compare :) I love how Invisalign is almost "invisible" since it is all clear with NO metals :)

Spotted: Sephora's new iPhone app "Sephora To Go"

This morning Sephora launched their new iPhone app "Sephora To Go"!!  I haven't checked out this app myself but from what I've read from appolicious and mygloss.com, the app offers beauty advice, video tutorials, ratings, reviews, new products, and staff picks.  Sephora's "Beauty Insiders" can also look up previous purchases and samples, access their accounts, and create shopping lists.  This makes reordering super easy and breezy :)  The app also has a search function where you can use the brands tab to filter results.

Today I decided to try my new Maybelline ExpertWear Shadow Trio in Bronze Glitz that my friend Dan sent me in the care package (thank you Dan!)  The bronze colors are perfect for the fall :)

Here we go:

Fancies: Natural Daylight Lighted Vanity Mirror + my new vanity area :)

I decided to create a vanity area in my living room where I can get the most natural light :)  I had been doing my makeup in the bathroom for the longest time and never really liked the yellow light in there, so decided to give this a try.  I am quite liking the new set up and the lighting is good! :)  I did notice that I can see a LOT more blemishes and imperfections under natural light though, LOL.  The yellow light in the bathroom sure masks a lot of it =p


The mirror I am using is the Natural Daylight Lighted Vanity Mirror that I purchased at Costco and it is pretty good!  The mirror is 2 sided, one side is the magnifying side.  The light is natural, but I do wish the mirror is a bit bigger.. but overall I like it :)
