[FOTD] I entered the NYX Vamp Appeal Contest

Couple of days ago I saw on NYX's Facebook page that they are hosting a Vampire contest where the winner gets a bunch of free lip products.  The contest ends on Jan 19 so check out their page and enter!! :)

Here's the look that I came up with:

I didn't own any red lipstick so I had to go out and buy one last night =p  and I realized how BAD I am in applying lipsticks, I couldn't really get the shape right LOL.  Anyway... here are the steps in achieving this look:

We want a very pale complexion, so for the base I used MAYBELLINE Pure Mineral BB Cream SPF26 PA+++ which gives a pale and matte finish.  I then used L'Oreal Paris True Match Naturale Mineral Foundation, Soft Ivory as a setting powder.  I don't normally use mineral foundation as setting powder since it is very pigmented and can end up looking very made up.  But for this look it's ok since vampires all seem to have the most flawless complexion.  Also, no under eye concealer for this look since vampires don't sleep!

I rarely color my brows but we need strong brows to complement the strong eye makeup later.  Here I used Revlon Brow Fantasy in Light Brown and set it with  NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Shaper Wax Stick.

For the base eye color, I mixed the dark pink and dark purple from Rocky City RC-63 palette to create a color that almost looks bruisy and swollen.  I applied the color under my brow bone, and feathered it out toward the temple, I then pulled down the color to the lower lid as well.

For the crease color I used Lancome Eye Shadow in Lezard.  Here I applied the color to the outer corner, to the middle of the lid, and lower lid.

For the brow highlight I used Lancome Eye Shadow in Latte.

Now we line the eyes.  I used Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Liner Waterproof to tightline and line the upper/lowerlashline and waterline.  Notice I also lined the inner corner.  This step doesn't need to be precise since it will be buffed out later.

Milani Eye Shadow Black Out 02, 0.07 oz (Pack of 3)
Next I smudged out the liner with a black eyeshadow, here I used Milani Eye Shadow Black Out 02.

Ardell Fashion Eyelashes #135 - Black (4 pk.)
I rarely wear falsies but since this is a more dramatic look, I used Ardell Fashion Eyelashes #135, which isn't too crazy, just adds a bit more length.

Now we contour the nose.  Vampires have strong features.  Here I used Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Compact, Fair on the sides of the nose, and Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder in the center as a matte highlight.

For cheeks contouring, I used the same Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Compact, Fair under my cheek bones and Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder on top of the cheek bones.  NO blush for this look since vampires are dead =p

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Creme, Love That Red 725, 0.15 Ounce (Pack of 2)Laura Geller Mini Shine & Shield Lip Gloss Fresco Berry

Here's the final look:

and oops, must check the glue at the corners next time.

Hope you guys like this look!  I actually am going to wipe it off because I can't leave the house with this much makeup on LOL =p  Also, check out the other contestants in the contest :)
