[Sponsored Review] Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm and Water Fuse Beauty Balm

Surely a lot of you already know that leading Korean cosmeceutical company, Dr. Jart+, recently launched at Sephora :)  Dr. Jart+ is actually one of best BB creams I've tried, the Asian versions provide exceptional coverage and leave my skin really REALLY smooth.  When I tried it I actually said "wow" after applying it the very first time!  Naturally when I heard that Dr. Jart+ has launched in the US, I was very excited to see how the US versions compare with the Asian ones.

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm
Water Fuse Beauty Balm gives a fresh, dewy look while evening skintone and minimizing the appearance of imperfections. Like a drink for your skin, Water Fuse Beauty Balm soothes and calms redness, hydrates thirsty skin and protects with SPF25.
50mL/1.7Fl.Oz. SRP: $32.00

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm
All-in-one, triple function Beauty Balm protects with SPF45 and improves skin elasticity and firmness while brightening and concealing uneven skintone. Apply after cleansing for smooth, natural summer skin.
40mL/1.4Fl. Oz. SRP: $39.00

Here are some before and after photos:

Water Fuse Beauty Balm
Yup, do you see the wet droplets?  As you rub it it, you actually see water!  The texture is super watery light, very suitable for the summer months and for those with oily skin.

Pore coverage: pretty good just like what BB creams are supposed to do.  This is a clear advantage that BB creams have over tinted moisturizers - they do wonders for pores!

Before & after: not much difference eh?  You can see that its coverage is VERY VERY light, my freckles are barely covered =p  It does even out the skin tone though.  I wouldn't recommend Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm to those who are looking for coverage - this is good for those who want something ultra light, not much coverage but does minimize the look of pores.

Premium Beauty Balm
The color appears a bit reddish but blends in perfectly once it is rubbed in.  I am fairly pale myself so don't quite know how well this works with darker complexions.  The texture is definitely heavier than Water Fuse Beauty Balm, very comparable to tinted moisturizers.

Pore coverage: again, very good at minimizing the look of pores :)

Before & after: Ya... I looked tired.... =p  As far as coverage goes, the Premium Beauty Balm does provide more coverage than Water Fuse Beauty Balm (and most tinted moisturizers for that matter), it also seems to leave a somewhat powdery look as well - definitely minimizes the need for foundations for those who don't need heavy coverage.

Overall - both the Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm and Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm cover up pores very well, however the coverage is rather light, especially when compared to its Asian counterparts.  One thing I really like about these (compared to other BB creams from Asia) is that they are fragrance free!  I am not a fan of scented face products =p  Next time you find yourself strolling down the isles at Sephora, be sure to check out Dr. Jart+ :)

These products were sent to me from Attention for review purposes.

Was searching on bb cream on your blog today! Telepathy does work :). Thanks for the article! Which brand would you recommend for darker skin tone? /khwan

I'd stick to the BB creams released in the US as opposed to Asia, assuming they are made for people with a wider range of complexion.
