[Sponsored] Reese Witherspoon and Avon Unite for New Expressions Fragrance

Summer is around the corner, have you done your spring cleaning and packed up your winter gears?  Why not also consider a change in fragrance with the change in season :)  Avon and Reese Witherspoon have introduced Expressions, a trio of bright floral fragrances perfect for the warm weather.

Reese Witherspoon, an actress, mother and Avon Global Representative, is a perfect example of the every day woman, one who wears a different hat every day.  Her modern femininity is captured with a fragrance for each frame of mind: Live without regrets, Laugh often and Love to the fullest.

Wearing fragrance is one way I express my personality, no matter what my mood, Expressions lets me convey my joy, confidence or sensuality – whatever I feel that day. -- Reese

The first fragrance of the trio, Love, is described as a rich and textured Oriental Floral scent, inspired by the glow that comes with falling in love. With shimmering top notes of succulent black cherry, a plush peony floralcy and sensual amber and woods, Love is sexy and seductive – the perfect way to kick start a new spring romance!  I personally don't know if "sexy" and "seductive" are the right words to describe this, I just feel it is feminine and lovely :)

Love ($22.50, 1.7oz) is available now, with Laugh following in May and Live soon after. The Expressions trio is available exclusively through Avon Representatives. To locate an Avon Representative call 1-800-FOR-AVON or visit www.avon.com.

Will you give this a try?

[Fantasies] Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil, Blemishes R Gone Argan Acne Clearing Pads

Remember back in Nov 2010 I raved about Josie Maran's Argan Oil (see [Fancies] Josie Maran Argan Oil)? Well I just came across 2 more products from Josie Maran that I am DYING to try!!

This multitasking cleanser removes makeup and skin impurities while providing deep hydration. Almond, safflower seed, and grape seed oils cleanse the skin's surface and renew every layer of the skin. The non-greasy texture leaves skin feeling moisturized, never tight or dry.

Cleansing Oils have been a staple in my skincare routing for YEARS.  Whenever I stop using cleansing oils, I get a lot of black heads on my nose for some reason.  I've tried a lot of different cleansing oils and this Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil is the one that I want to try next!  I love argan oil and think I will really love this!

Josie Maran Blemishes R Gone Argan Acne Clearing Pads
These pads cleanse and exfoliate while unclogging pores. Each pad is soaked with organic argan oil, natural salicylic acid, willow bark, and organic aloe vera, which calms and soothes the skin and reduces redness.

I think this is a good addition to my routine.  I don't break out that much anymore (*knock on wood), and I think acne clearing pads are very good for those occasional breakouts.  I am very curious to see how well argan oil works with salicylic acid!  Can't wait to try this!

[Fancies] TestTube, a sampling program created by NewBeauty magazine

Good evening!  Lately I've really been slacking off and not blogging as much, I apologize =p  Here's a super long overdue one: My birthday gift from my buddy Marj - TestTube, a sampling program created by NewBeauty magazine.  Similar to Birchbox (see [Fancies] Birchbox, a beauty discovery service, funded by First Round Capital if you are not familiar with them).

Unlike Birchbox, Testtube comes to you every 3 months instead of every month.  You receive a tube of samples as well as the NewBeauty magazine.  They cost $29.95 plus $8.95 shipping so it is a bit more expensive than Birchbox which charges $10 every month shipping included.  But you do get a magazine whereas Birchbox gives you beauty information on their website.  As you can see from the picture above, the TestTube packaging does not come close to Birchbox's.  Not sure if you care about packaging, I don't necessarily buy products based on packaging but I do appreciate companies that much more when I see that they take the time to make sure that their products are presented nicely.

As you can see, the magazine is nice and thick, it's a good read too!

These are the goodies in my TestTube.

$20 spalook.com gift card
Dr. Denese HydroShield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum - heard good things about this, can't wait to try it :)
Lashfood Natural eyelash Conditioner - I'm quite excited about this, I hope it works!
Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics Tantasia Self Tanner
Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara - which I already love, see [Fancies] Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara

Yup, lots of goodies for me to try!  What do you think of TestTube?  Will you try their service?

[Spotted] ghd gold series styler

ghd gold series styler is a more advanced take on the classic ghd styler. The professional 1" gold styler uses ghd’s latest heat technology. With a rounded barrel to create gorgeous curls, waves or flicks, as well as perfect straight styles for all hair types.

Retail: $225

I like that this is not only a straightener but can be used to create curls as well, but it is definitely a splurge item.  Would you spend this much money on a hair styling tool?

[Sponsored Review] LaLicious Whipped Body Soap and Body Oil

LaLicious is a high-end bath and body product collection that was created to moisturize and smooth your skin to perfection. Lalicious products are all natural and free of paraben preservatives and sulfate detergents.  Their scrubs, butters, oils and soaps are available in scrumptious scents like Island Guava, Coffee Bean, Brown Sugar and Vanilla. I myself had the chance to try their Coconut Cream Whipped Body Soap and Body Oil.

The Coconut Cream reminds me of my favorite drink, the pina coloda :)  The Whipped Body Soap is exactly like it says, whipped and light as air.  What I like the best is that it doesn't leave a sticky residue unlike many others out there.  The texture is creamy that doesn't have a lot of foam.  So if you prefer something that is very foamy, you should probably consider another product...

The Body Oil is non-greasy and easily absorbed.  Way better than Johnson's Baby Oil =p  I use this on my legs right after the shower when my skin is still wet.  For some reason my legs are really really dry, but the Body Oil definitely does a good job keeping it moisturized.  Not only is this good for the body, I also use this to condition my hair and as a shaving lotion :)  Yay to the multi-purpose product!

Overall, please do check out http://www.lalicious.com for more information, they make very good products!

[Fancies] Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara

Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara, Black .39 fl oz (10 ml)
Remember back in January I showed you Swatches of Mally Beauty Pro Tips & Tricks 8-piece Color Collection but left out the Volumizing Mascara?  Well, I finally used up my tarte lights, camera, lashes mascara (which I also quite like, see [Fancies] Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara) and started using the Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara.  I usually wait until I am finished with 1 mascara before opening up another one, especially if it's a department store brand just because it is pricey and I don't like to waste.

If I had to choose between tarte lights, camera, lashes mascara and Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara I would definitely go for Mally's just because it is more smudgeproof, and the application is a lot better because tarte's has way too much fall outs.  In terms of lengthening and volumizing capabilities, both are pretty much equal, but I would say Mally's is more buildable with less clumps.

Now let's look at some before and afters:

[Sponsored] My current skincare routine featuring Caroline Chu Skincare

I recently discovered the Caroline Chu Skincare and Cosmetics line when I read an article about Caroline in More Magazine at my dentist's office. The title "This Is What 46 Looks Like" automatically drew my attention, naturally I would also want to look like that when I am 46 =p But that's not the only fascinating part.

Caroline is originally from Taiwan (same as me!), used to work in the high-tech industry in Silicon Valley (which is where I work now!), and after her daughter left for college she decided to quit her stable high paying job to pursue her passion in beauty (which is what I dream to do one day =p).

I went ahead and contacted her for a blog interview (see the interviews I've done in the past here), she was so generous and gave me some products to try:

Here's my current AM skincare routine:

Setting up my new vanity area

I know I haven't been blogging as much as I should for the past week or so, it's because I recently moved, and things have been quite hectic lately.  Just wanted to share with you my new vanity area.  It's not set up at all, just a some boxes and my mirror which I love - see [Fancies] Natural Daylight Lighted Vanity Mirror

What I love about this area is the big window above which gives me a lot of natural light :)  The bad thing is that there isn't an electrical outlet on the walls near by, so I have to think of a way to bring extension cords into this area so I can plug in my mirror if I need to put on make up at night.  Other than that, I love this area, can't wait to set it up!
