[Fancies] Michelle Phan's Current Foundation Routine

I don't normally benefit much from foundation routine videos because I don't wear foundation, but Michelle Phan's Current Foundation Routine video was very helpful!  Particularly because I do wear concealer on my eyes and recently started using Maybelline New York Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer on my cheeks to cover up my freckles.  I followed Michelle's suggestion on blending out concealer with a blush brush - works like a charm I must say!!  It's much faster than using my fingers and blends out so nicely :)  Thanks for this video Michelle, no wonder you are admired by many :)

[Fancies] Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer for my freckles

I don't know if I am being extra paranoid but lately I've been really bothered by my freckles, they are looking really noticeable these days.  I never bothered concealing them before because I didn't really mind them but something changed and now I am obsessed with concealing them =/  I've had freckles since I was a kid and I think I am getting more as I age?  

Anyway, I've decided to try the Maybelline New York Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer since it reminds me of the YSL Touche Eclat.  I have no intention of buying the YSL, can't justify the high price tag!  The Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer I thought sounded really promising - it is a gel-based concealer that illuminates shadows as it conceals.  I had a feeling that freckles would be difficult to conceal so I thought I'd try a concealer that highlights as well so it can reflect light away.  And since freckles are mainly around the cheekbones highlighting while concealing sounded like a good idea.

[Frowns] Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray

So... I like the idea of dry shampoo because its not good to wash hair everyday but I hate the greasy look in second day hair. Dry shampoos ideally can solve this problem by spraying oil absorbing substances onto the scalp to recreate the freshly washed look while leaving a clean scent.

I used to like the Tresemme Dry Shampoo because of its scent but it leaves behind a white residue that ends up making my hair look gray and powdery. So I decided to try the Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo because it sprays on clear and is good for all hair colors including dark hair like mine.

Initially I liked the Oscar Blandi one, specifically because it really does spray on clear, and really does make my hair look clean and non greasy. However the result doesn't last very long at all, approximately 2 - 4 hours later my hair would start looking greasy again. Not good... Given that this is not a cheap purchase I really had high hopes for it and need it to be long lasting... Another point worth noting is the lemony scent, which reminds me household cleaners... Not really a deal breaker for me had the product worked the entire day, but since it doesn't, I thought I should call out that the scent isn't a good selling point either.

My search for good dry shampoos continues.

[Fancies] Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Purple Tang

I've mentioned the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner, Purple Tang in my Valentine's Day FOTD, but I've been using this eyeliner A LOT and think that it definitely deserves its own dedicated post so here it is :)  As mentioned before, this goes on really smoothly, it's very pigmented, long lasting, and I LOVE the purple shimmers!
